Activities
Outside the curriculum, there are numerous musical activities available for pupils to take part in. Large instrumental ensembles include a Full Orchestra, Concert Band and a Jazz Band. There are many chamber ensembles including two string quartets, clarinet quartet, saxophone ensemble, guitar ensemble and two flute groups. There is every opportunity for these ensembles to perform in concerts and the more advanced chamber groups perform as part of the Canterbury Festival each year.

Choral music is central to the life of our department. The Senior Choir is made up of over 60 members and a particular highlight is leading the annual carol service in the magnificent setting of Canterbury Cathedral. Members of the Senior Choir will also be performing in Venice at Christmas. The Chamber Choir, Sedecim, gives regular performances in school concerts and in the community, whilst the highly acclaimed Kent College Choristers provide an outstanding opportunity for younger singers to perform in concerts, national competitions and take part in an annual tour abroad. The Choral Society is made up of parents and friends of Kent College and rehearses on Thursday evenings during the Spring Term to perform a major choral work with the Senior Choir each year.
