JUNIOR SCHOOL FEES (ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/25)
School fees at Kent College are as inclusive as possible and extras are kept to a minimum. The policy at Kent College is that the fees structure should be clear, straightforward and transparent, avoiding wherever possible the levying of additional charges. It is KC Governors’ policy to maintain these published fee levels throughout the Academic Year to which they relate.
- Registration fee (non-returnable): £150
A deposit is payable when a place is accepted, and is non-returnable should the place subsequently not be taken up. It is returnable at the end of a pupil’s career at the school less any outstanding charges.
- Deposit for Day Pupils: £750
If paying termly, payment of fees is due by the first day of each term, as printed on the fees invoice and in your signed parent contract. Fees can also be paid in instalments, either by standing order or by direct debit. The school’s preferred method of payment is by direct debit.
Fees can also be paid in advance via composition fees, which includes a small discount. Please contact the Bursar if you would like to discuss this option.

Occasional Boarding is available charged at £85.00 per night.

The following are included in the Standard Fee:
- Activities which form part of the curriculum Books and stationery supporting the curriculum and most materials required for Art and CDT
- Career profiling, a professional assessment designed to quantify the skills and aptitudes of pupils in Years 11 and 12 and provide detailed guidance regarding future careers and university courses
- Exam fees for entering the first sitting of external examinations associated with main timetabled classes e.g. GCSEs, AS and A Levels, IB
- All meals for boarding pupils and lunches for day pupils
- Personal accident insurance for pupils
- All bedding and internal laundry services for boarders
- Trips which are designated by the school to be obligatory in support of the curriculum e.g. Science and Technology Week, theatre visits, and geography field trips: and costs associated with representing the school in designated sports fixtures and events. A contribution will be required for residential trips.
The costs of any extra services and/or activities will be invoiced separately, twice per term. Examples of these include:
- Books, which remain the personal property of the pupil (library/text books which are lost may also be charged)
- The cost of the daily minibus services for day pupils
- Individual music tuition/hire of musical instruments and LAMDA lessons
- Expenditure incurred by pupils in the Thrift Shop
- The cost of participation in certain specialist sports e.g. judo and riding
- The cost of special trips e.g. additional trips to the theatre (usually subsidised by the College)
- Optional trips for boarders
- Contributions will also be required for Residential Trips.
- Learning support services
- Please note that School Fees insurance, which is arranged by the school, is automatically added to your fee bill. Parents can contact the Finance Team to opt out.
INDIVIDUAL TUITION
Individual Tuition with a teacher: £60 per hour
Paired Tuition with a Teacher: £34.00 per hour
Shared Tuition with a Teacher: £25.00 per hour
Individual Learning Support Assistant: £34.00 per hour
Shared Learning Support Assistant: £19.00 per hour
Pupils wishing to take either a GCSE or A Levels in their home language where this is available can do so by accessing either group coaching sessions outside timetabled lessons for a £455 one off fee for languages with larger numbers or, for individual or very small numbers of students for a language, this is arranged on a bespoke basis by the Director of Studies and the fees calculated from the Individual Tuition rates.
EXTENDED DAY OFFERING
We can also offer an extended day, at both the Junior School and the Senior School, via our Breakfast and Supper Clubs. Fees are £6.35 for Breakfast and £6.35 for Supper. Please contact the School Office, at either location, for further information on this.
SIBLING ALLOWANCES
When three or more siblings from the same family are attending Kent College simultaneously, the following remissions may be granted:
Third sibling: 20% remission
Fourth and additional sibling: 40% remission
This remission is given in respect of the youngest child/children. Sibling remission does not apply to children in Garden Cottage Nursery.
HM FORCES ALLOWANCE
Personnel who are eligible for the Boarding School Allowance are entitled to a 10% remission on tuition fees from the school and up to a maximum of a further 80% from the armed forces.
FCO
Children of Officers of the Foreign Commonwealth Office may be eligible to a reduction in Boarding fees. Please contact us to discuss.
METHODIST MINISTERS ALLOWANCE
Children of Methodist Ministers are entitled to a 10% Methodist Ministers Allowance.
NOTICE REQUIREMENTS
If you wish to withdraw your child from the School (other than at the normal leaving date in Year 13), you shall either give a term's notice to that effect or shall pay to the School a term's fees in lieu of notice. This means that if, for example, you wish to withdraw your child with effect from the start of the autumn term (ie, at the start of an academic year) then you would need to inform the Head, in writing, that you wish to withdraw your child on or before the first day of the preceding summer term (ie. the final term of the preceding academic year).
This applies at all transition points through the College, i.e. from:
- Pre-Reception to Reception
- Year 6 to Year 7
- Year 11 to Year 12
