REALISING THE POTENTIAL IN YOUNG PEOPLE
SCHOLARHIPS AND BURSARIES AT KC
Realising the potential within young people is something that is incredibly important at Kent College and since our foundation we have excelled in the academic, musical and sporting spheres.
We have a long tradition of recognising and rewarding outstanding ability by awarding scholarships that are designed to attract talented pupils from all backgrounds who would benefit from the unique educational experience offered by Kent College. The school undertakes to nurture and develop a scholar’s talent; in return scholars are expected to make a significant contribution to school life. Recent scholars have included Anna who is going on to read English Literature at Oxford University with a Choral Scholarship and Tilly who is playing cricket not only for the Kent County Cricket Womens' team but also internationally for England.
As a member of the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC), the group of schools that includes the top independent schools in the country, it is agreed that the maximum amount of scholarship available will be 50% of tuition fees though most scholarships awards are around 20%. It is possible to be awarded a scholarship in more than one area but the maximum overall value will not exceed 50%.
The opportunities that Kent College affords its students are special and it is absolutely right that we make these accessible to as many people as we can. Means-tested bursaries may also be offered in addition to scholarships and further information is available from the Admissions team.

WHAT OUR SCHOLARS SAY
Music scholars: "We have so much support and guidance and the individual tuition sessions are fantastic and there are so many performance opportunities."
Drama Scholar: " I have really been able to explore my creativity and grow my skills and workshops, LAMDA lessons and performances. I have gained so much confidence."
Sports scholars: Kent College is a co-educational school that welcomes students from all backgrounds and over 40 different countries. With 800 students we are large enough for us to be able to offer a wide range of choice both academically and in co-curricular activities but small enough that we still know every child really well.
"Almost all pupils attain grades higher than expected for those of their ability."

Kent College is a co-educational school that welcomes students from all backgrounds and over 40 different countries. With 600 students in the Senior School we are large enough for us to be able to offer a wide range of choice both academically and in co-curricular activities but small enough that we still know every child really well.
Kent College has a reputation as a friendly school. It is most definitely a place where teachers really get to know the pupils, and have the time and space to give individual attention, both academically and pastorally. While it is a non-selective school, our students consistently achieve excellent academic results at GCSE, A Level, and in the International Baccalaureate.
