EXCITING, CHALLENGING AND FRIENDLY
Kent College has a reputation as a friendly school. It is most definitely a place where teachers really get to know the pupils, and have the time and space to give individual attention, both academically and pastorally. While it is a non-selective school, our students consistently achieve excellent academic results at GCSE, A Level, and in the International Baccalaureate.
Sport, Music and Drama all play a major role in our school life and offer opportunities for everyone, from beginners to elite level performers.
ACADEMIC RESULTS
Kent College students and staff celebrated another successful year for IB, A Level and GCSE. The results reflected the consistently high standards that the school has been achieving for many years across a wide variety of subjects and various different branches of study.
In the IB, students achieved 100% pass rate, 40% of the cohort achieved over 40 points, 5 gained bilingual diplomas and 2 students were awarded the maximum 45 points joining the top 1% of candidates in the world. The average points score at the school, when translated into UCAS (university entrance) points, is similar to the number of points awarded for straight As, and 45 points is equivalent to 5 A*s at A Level. Such results match the best at Kent College, which is regularly noted in the top 10 small cohort IB schools in the UK.
DESTINATIONS - 45% of students regualrly go on to Russell Group universities ( 24 of the top universities in the UK) while a number progress to international universities such as Cornell in the USA, Bocconi in Milan or Esade in Barcelona or go on to other UK universities. An increasingly popular option is to take up degreee apprenticeships.
