KENT COLLEGE TRIUMPHS AT FIRST LEGO LEAGUE COMPETITION
In an inspiring display of creativity and teamwork Kent College team emerged victorious at the First Lego League competition held on Friday, February 23rd, at Christ Church University.
Throughout the day our team showcased their enthusiasm for engineering and talent by winning the Robot Design award (using sets and software from Lego Mindstorm) which allowed our robot, which was guided by icon-based programming, to deftly navigate the competition board, conquering a multitude of challenging tasks.
The KC team’s success, however, did not stop at robot design! Our students showcased exceptional teamwork skills, as they tackled problems head-on. Their ability to devise innovative solutions to challenges presented to them reflects the attitudes of resilience and curiosity that we are so enthusiastic to encourage within our community, the team being a representation of what makes our school so special.
Finally, our team highlighted their skills in innovation by presenting a project which explored ways of promoting theatre production. They then used Lego to demonstrate a holographic solution that would revolutionise the way audiences experience live performances. Following this they held their own in the intensive Q&A sessions, proving thoughtful responses and leading them to winning the competition overall.
Congratulations to the Kent College First Lego League team for their outstanding achievements!
