CELEBRATING OUR SUCCESSES
This year has been a remarkable celebration of student achievement, with curiosity and excellence shining across academics, sport, the arts, and co-curricular life.
In STEAM, our enrichment programme inspired innovation and exploration. Year 8 students won the Faraday Challenge at Canterbury Christ Church University, while Year 10 triple scientists tackled forensic investigations. The Royal Institution Science Show brought awe and wonder to Years 7 and 8, and many students pursued CREST awards with standout independent research.
Mathematics saw national-level success at the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge, with our students across all age groups excelling in the challenges taking bronze, silver and gold. One student ranked in the top 5 nationally in the National Cipher Challenge and will attend the Bletchley Park ceremony.
In sport, our hockey teams reached new heights. The Boys’ U13s placed 4th nationally, and the U16s were national finalists. Kent College will now competes in Tier 1 of England Hockey competitions at U14 and U18 level. Netball expanded rapidly, with the U14s winning the Birley’s Tournament. Cricket teams reached county and national finals, and over 30 students are now part of the Kent Cricket Pathway. Rugby, horse riding, and individual achievements in football, tennis, and netball added to a stellar year.
Over 120 clubs ran this year, including new cultural societies celebrating diversity. Our Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme saw 62 students contribute over 1,100 hours of service.
Academically, Kent College ranks among the top 14 IB schools in the UK, with students averaging 37 points. A-Level and Cambridge Technical results were outstanding, with 83% of grades at C or above - the highest since before the pandemic. 87% of students secured their first or second university choice.
We were proud to attend the National Theatre Awards for our production of Singin’ in the Rain - a true testament to the talent and dedication of our student cast, as well as the inspiring leadership of our Director of Drama and Director of Music. Their creative vision and guidance brought the show to life in spectacular fashion.
Adding to our performing arts success, one of our Sixth Form students spent the summer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, delivering a powerful one-woman piece - an incredible achievement on one of the world’s most renowned creative stages.
We are proud of every student who has embodied curiosity, creativity, and commitment this year.
