ELECTRA PERFORMING ONE-WOMAN PIECE AT EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL
The Drama department were honoured to be able to watch the debut of Electra's one-woman piece: Father, Away She Goes. Sparked by her involvement with Kent College’s Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), her piece challenges how female ambition is portrayed in literature and society, drawing on figures like Eve and Lady Macbeth. As a Drama Scholar, Electra benefits from weekly one-on-one LAMDA coaching, preparing her for applications to top drama schools including RADA, LAMDA, and Guildhall. Reflecting on her journey, she shares: “It is a vibrant creative community among fellow drama scholars. It’s a space where passion for the arts is shared, ideas are exchanged, and support is constant.” Through Kent College’s facilities - particularly the black box studio - she was able to stage a preview performance for an internal audience of teachers and peers. “This opportunity was invaluable,” she says. “It enabled me to engage in meaningful dialogue through feedback, refine my artistic choices, and evaluate my work through a critical lens".
