ARTS WEEK 2024
Kent College’s Arts Week is a celebration of creativity and talent, where students display their skills in Music and drama. The week-long event features a range of creative workshops and sessions, culminating in a series of performances by the students. The event is a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering creativity and providing students with opportunities to explore their artistic passions.
We kicked off the week by inviting our students to participate in a Circus Skills workshop hosted by Kinetic Circus. Students were spinning plates, juggling, and learning all manner of new tricks! Kinetic Circus skills workshop was one of many sessions' students attended throughout the week, but the true highlights were the evening events!
The week began with an explosion of talent showcased during the college wide Variety show! Both teachers and students alike entertained with energetic dance routines and powerful musical performances. We were even lucky enough to experience a magic show!
As the week progressed our students competed in house public speaking, the winners Josie from Marlowe house, and River from Chaucer house, could be speaking in front of millions one day, who knows!
We must also congratulate Augustine House on their success with House Drama this Wednesday which included older students’ original scripts and Chaucer house on their win at House Music with a lively rendition of Wannabe by the Spice Girls.
Overall, we must thank the students, staff, and external providers for all their hard work in both organising and performing throughout the week. We value creativity and the arts strongly here at KC and believe it is essential in achieving our motto of ‘Open to thrive’. Arts week is solidly one of the best parts of the term and we hope everybody is having a well-deserved rest this half term, ready to start again on Monday the 19th February.
