FROM SCHOOL FARM TO STUDYING VETERINARY SCIENCE
One of our most prized assets at Kent College is our Farm. We believe allowing students to roll up their sleeves (quite literally) and spend time outdoors and with the animals is one of the most enriching parts of our curriculum and integral to their development throughout the school.
The Farm also has other more vocational benefits for our students as seen in alumni Elliot. Elliot was a regular at Farm club and this was one factor that helped him decide to study Veterinary science. He has recently been offered a place to study to become a Veterinarian at the University of Surrey after taking a gap year where he has gained more experience with animals and had the opportunity to travel.
Elliot’s story is one of persistence and shows a true love and passion for what he wants to do. It is also a wonderful advertisement of the benefits of taking co-curricular seriously! Who knows, those taking part in Farm club today may end up being the future farmers of this country, or the Vets who look after our beloved pets like Elliot here. If anyone reading is interested in Farm club we have different times on offer, after school on Tuesdays as well as our young farmers club on Saturday mornings.
We would like to celebrate Elliot’s achievement in getting into one of the top schools for veterinary medicine and we are so glad that our Farm has helped him find his future career!
